Under Sink Mats
Lots of colors and sizes to choose from.

This is a must-have under all sinks with cabinets. This will protect it in the case of a leak. Adding the alarm will prevent an overflow from occurring.

Water Leak Detectors
Under cabinets

After water damage found under sinks, I bought these during our remodel. This alarm will go off if there is any water detected.

Whole House Water Filter System
Most economical

I was looking for an economical Whole House Water Filter System since I was going to be investing in a high-quality water distiller for our drinking water. I found Spring to be easy to work with helping me with the filters that would be most beneficial for our tap water. (I do not recommend this filter system for drinking water)

Water Distiller
Economical Counter Top Water Distiller

I recommend buying this type of small countertop distiller instead of buying distilled water in plastic jugs or before investing in a larger distiller. We used ours for a good 8 months or more with no issues. We could also see how much yuck was in the tap water prior to being filtered. This is why I decided to invest in a water distiller instead of a new Reverse Osmosis System.

We have had a Reverse Osmosis System for over 10 years, and it's not that I don't recommend oneā€”but I have heard from others who have had both their filters and their tanks tested that it can easily grow bacteria, and I didn't want to take that chance. Ours also leaked and caused water damage under our sink, so I didn't want another tank under my sink and have water safety measures with the alarm and mat under my sinks.

Hygrometer
Humidity and Temperature

It is important to keep the humidity in your home below 50%. I have found this an easy way to check my bathrooms, kitchens and even when I open the windows to know if the humidity is getting to high.
Hygrometer: an instrument for measuring the humidity of the air
