Why this matters

Both sides of the breath are important:
Inhale = harvest / bring in · Exhale = let go / release

Pairing breath with gentle hand movements helps your body learn the rhythm of letting go.

How to practice (step-by-step)

  1. Sit or stand comfortably with relaxed shoulders.
  2. Inhale through your nose — imagine harvesting what you need. Gently squeeze your hands into soft fists.
  3. Exhale slowly through your mouth — imagine letting go of what you no longer need. Open your hands wide.
  4. Repeat for 6–10 rounds at an easy pace. Notice: What am I bringing in? What am I releasing?
Optional cues
  • Breath prayer:
Inhale: “Lord, fill me with what I need.”
    Exhale: “Help me let go.”
  • Prefer counts? Try a gentle 4-in / 4-out rhythm.
Gentle note: Stay within comfort. If you feel lightheaded, pause and return to normal breathing.
